I feel I definitely owe you an explanation. I am sure you have noticed that I have not posted one of my own projects in awhile now. :( My real job has taken over and consumed my life this year. We are moving into all of this new testing in 3 weeks, and it has been such a major bummer for the teachers and our students. I won't go into my rant here (LOL), but I will let you know that I will feel like a bird out of a cage once this test is over. I am probably way too much of a perfectionist in the classroom, and I feel the heavy burden of doing everything I can to help my students succeed. I am staying an hour after school 3 days a week to tutor those who need it.
My blog is one of my greatest passions, and I love all of the wonderful friends that I have made, and I cannot let it go. With that being said, I will be back to posting my projects and visiting with all of you like I used to do, before I ever heard the words, COMMON CORE! Thank you so much for letting me continue to blog through checking out your awesome projects for inspiration each week!!!

Kathy, thank you for hosting such a lovely party. I left teaching many years ago, but I still have tons of friends in the classroom. Common core is a nightmare for all involved. I hope that after the tests you have a little more free time to enjoy your crafting! :)
Thanks for hosting, Kathy. And a big thank you for featuring my Burlap Wrapped Carrots! What a fun surprise! I'm sorry you haven't been able to blog much lately with all the new responsibilities and expectations with work. Summer will be here before you know it. Hang tough, sweet lady! Your students are blessed to have such a dedicated teacher. Have a great week.
Blessings,
Nici

I hear your pain and frustration! We are going through the same changes here and our National Curriculum is causing nothing but stress and angst for teachers and students alike. I only do relief work now and marvel at the work hard-working teachers like yourself do every day. I hope our governments will just let us teach soon instead of having teachers conform to the whims of whichever govt is "governing" at the time.
Best wishes lovely lady!

Thanks you for featuring my Dollar Store Craft Round Up! Love your party and I wouldn't miss it!
Like you, I am a teacher. What you have said in your post is exactly reflects the problem with standardized testing - it squelches creativity and my favorite education speaker, Ken Robinson, has shown us through research exactly what happens when we take the creative out of learning. For you, a teacher, taking the creative out has made you neglect a part of your life that feeds your soul. Sigh. I understand and know exactly where you are coming from. Thank you for hosting this sweet party to keep us all in our creative spirit. ~Kelly

We would all vote for you for "Teacher of the Year"! I admire all you do to teach our children Kathy. Thank you. Thanks also for hosting this party. Glad to be back after a long blogging break. Blessings, Patti
Kathy, I am a teacher, too-- and I was so fed up with all the nonsense you've mentioned that I quit my position last fall. Best decision I ever made. I continue to work with kids, but in a different way, and without the anxiety and detrimental decisions made by people who don't know a thing about being a great teacher!
Hang in there!
Thanks for hosting Kathy, appreciate joining in on Bouquet of Talent. Have a good week.
