Shabby Chic Jewelry Organizer

My daughter is a Pinterest addict, just like her mother!!  I have been promising her that I would make her a jewelry organizer for months now.  Last week I found the perfect frame at an estate sale for a $1.00!  The frame was in excellent shape, and Lauren wanted to keep it gold.  What????  No spray paint?  No ASCP?  The paint addict that I am, I did add a touch of purple to blend with her room.

Well, after months of waiting on me to make this, it is finally completed!  I decided to use a piece of screening material for the earrings, and I added hooks across the bottom of the frame for bracelets and necklaces.

Here is an up close of the purple paint I added around the frame.

I also raided my jewelry drawer for old earrings and such that I never wear any more to add to the rosettes.

Since Lauren loves pearls,  I added an old pearl necklace across the top between the rosettes.

Now the big question is.........will the jewelry organizer be the motivation she needs to prevent the scene below??  For some reason, her jewelry never seems to make it to her room, and she wonders why she can only find one earring.  Hint: our kitty has a blast playing with those feather earrings!  The basket has turned into his toy box.   :)   I would love to reclaim my basket for its original purpose....the mail!

Have a very blessed day, and thank you for stopping by!  I love your visits.

Very cute board! I did a similar one a few years ago and covered it in some plaid fabric. Mine is not so fancy...I just used straight pins to hold my necklaces. Thanks for stopping by to visit this Austin Nana!
