Welcome friends! I am so thrilled to be participating in the Sharing is Caring Blog Hop for Father's Day. I don't know about you, but I always need all of the inspiration I can get when it comes to gifts for the men in my life. I can't wait to see all of the great ideas from the blog hop.
This post is part of the Sharing is Caring Father's Day Blog Hop hosted by Life With Lovebugs and Powerful Mothering!
Today, I am sharing a super easy and fun Scrabble tile keychain that I made for my daughter to give her dad. You can have one of these made up in no time at all!
For this project, you will need Scrabble tiles, glue (I used E-6000), thumb tack, very small eyelet, and a key ring. I also used a small piece of wax paper when I glued the tiles together.
The first step is to make a hole in the tile so it would be easier to screw in the eyelet. I used a thumbtack to make the hole. This was the hardest part of the whole project. Those tiles are very solid.
I glued the tiles together. Once they were fairly firm, and I turned the pieces on their side so they wouldn't stick to the wax paper. I allowed to dry overnight.
The last step was to add the key ring to the tiles. This is the quick and easy version. I really would have preferred to run a piece of wire through all of the tiles to make sure the tiles stay together. I didn't have a drill bit that tiny. Another easy way would be to drill tiny holes at the top and bottom of each piece and join them together with a tiny ring.
You could also draw a heart on a blank tile and add I (heart) dad.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Be sure and check out all of the Father's Day ideas at the hop below.
