I put the icing in a separate bowl.
You can add pecans to the icing, but since I'm out-numbered around here I leave them out.
3 sticks of butter
6 large eggs'
8 oz. cream cheese
3 cups sugar
3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt
Cream butter and cream cheese. Add sugar and mix until fluffy. Add salt and vanilla; beat well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in flour and mix well. Spoon into a greased and floured tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for 80 minutes.
*Because I do not add all the mixture into one pan, mine takes about 70 minutes. Check the center with a fork. If it comes out clean, it is done.
Icing
1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese
1 stick butter
1 (16 oz.) pkg. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
* Pecan halves if desired
Combine slightly softened cream cheese and butter, beating until smooth; add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy.
What desserts are on your menu today? Thanks so much for visiting, and have a very blessed day!

I love pound cake!!! So yummy. I think my recipe calls for sour cream instead of cream cheese, and I've never iced it - it's so rich on its own. Cream cheese icing would be so good, though! :) Now I want a pound cake!

This sounds wonderful..I just copied the recipe as I am making a pretty and tasty cake for several family members for Christmas...this will be perfect for some of them. I'll put them in the freezer and then on Christmas Eve when everyone comes to my house, I'll have them in pretty, clear paper with red and white bakers twine...and your recipe attached.
ReplyDeleteThanks...oh, over from Kathe's.
